Our team at Frigoulet

Our chef, a true native of the region, lives for his cuisine. His motto: "We also eat with our eyes." He doesn't hesitate to visit nurseries, even on his days off, to choose new plants, because his dishes must be as beautiful as they are delicious.

With expertise, attention, and a genuine smile, our service team ensures that you feel completely at ease, whether at breakfast, dinner, or in between.

And behind the scenes, everything runs like clockwork: our discreet but dedicated cleaning team ensures that the rooms and the entire estate sparkle every day.

Our mountain bike guides, who accompany you on varied routes, are delighted to return to "Frigi" every time, a place that is both a home and a starting point for new adventures for them.

Our gardener devotes great dedication to tending the vast estate, with its lavender fields, lawns, and carefully tended garden. Thanks to his deep attachment to the region, he also regularly serves as a hiking guide. He's the ideal companion for exploring nature and learning more about the local treasures.

What makes Le Frigoulet so special? A family-run team, passionate and deeply warm, authentic, accessible, and driven by a genuine joy of welcoming.

how it all began

For Hansruedi Büchi, it all started with a canoe trip through the wild Ardèche gorge. As a teenager, he discovered this untouched landscape — and instantly knew there was something special about it.

Years later, he returned to the Ardèche with the vision of sharing this unique place with others. Soon, the first Aktivferien AG bike tours in the region were created. What began as a personal discovery gradually evolved: holidays turned into ideas, ideas into a dream — and from that dream, the Domaine du Frigoulet was born.

Today, the estate covers more than 600,000 m²: a private nature park, a stylish hotel, and two lovingly restored holiday homes. And the story continues — three additional houses are currently under construction, soon offering even more space for tranquillity, nature, and active experiences in the heart of this fascinating landscape.

The second generation is closely connected to the region as well: Beni and Carina spent much of their childhood holidays in the Ardèche and developed a deep bond with this place early on. Today, they are responsible for the operation — Beni Büchi oversees the sports division, while Carina Bruun Büchi manages the hotel sector. Hansruedi now focuses mainly on his great passion: restoring historic houses.
